RICHARD FRANKLIN
NECTOR
Richard joined the Halls group in September 2008 where he managed the groups’ portfolio of investments in privately held pharmaceutical, financial services and technology businesses. Since 2020 Richard is leading Halls’ focus on implementing and investing in technology solutions across the fresh produce value chain. Currently based in the Netherlands, Richard’s role is split between chief information officer of Halls Fresh Produce, where we use technology to improve our own operations, and as managing director of Nector Holdings, where we develop technology solutions that solve problems for the wider fresh food industry.
With qualifications in computer science and applied mathematics, Richard started his working career focusing on plant optimisation and management information systems at the Sasol Synfuels facility in South Africa. Following completion of his MBA, Richard joined McKinsey & Co as an associate and was exposed to the broader business environment with various projects based out of South Africa, Nigeria, India, Singapore and Australia.
