Overview
Halls Group operates through four pillars.
"The group’s pioneering and adaptive spirit is evident in a business that has not simply survived, but has continued to grow and flourish since 1890."
HALLS GROUP
Halls Group has operating businesses in fresh produce, property development, pharmaceuticals, technology and financial services.
What began as a farming operation in 1890 in the Lowveld of South Africa is today a diversified group of companies with multinational operations and global aspirations.
Even though the business model has changed substantially over time, the company is still family-owned and remains true to the values of the original enterprise.
With a long history of supporting the communities in which we live and work, we are also called to contribute to the betterment of the lives of those around us.
With a unique heritage, we realise the importance of building on our legacy for future generations.
GOVERNANCE
The board of Directors of Halls Group is committed to maintaining the highest standards of corporate governance and business ethics across the group’s operating subsidiaries.
These standards comply with modern corporate governance requirements and embody the characteristics of a family-owned business that is over 130 years. They are applied to ensure ongoing sustainability of the group and to optimise the long-term value that stakeholders derive from the group’s continued success.
COMMUNITY AND SUSTAINABILITY
BLOSSOM CARE
Made for women, by women
Halls proudly supports Blossom Care, an organisation that is empowering women while fighting period poverty. The Halls-Blossom partnership supported the set-up of a Blossom factory in Mataffin, employing six previously unemployed young women and producing enough pads to eliminate period poverty for thousands of school girls each year in the Mpumalanga area.
