Company Overview

Halls Properties is a property development company, established with the commitment to sustainable and responsible township development, adhering to best practices in urban planning. Foresight and aspiration regarding the growth potential of the city led Halls Properties to donate land in 1995 for the establishment of the provincial government offices in Riverside, the catalyst to securing capital city status for the City of Mbombela. Halls Properties firmly established itself as a township developer with the development of the Riverside precinct where, through a managed land manufacturing process, thousands of square metres of development land in Riverside are produced annually and on-sold for development.


Role Description

Reporting to the managing director, the project manager is required to successfully coordinate the land manufacturing activities of the Properties team, unlocking value through town planning processes, managing the land transfer process, and coordinating and managing ad hoc development projects, contributing significantly to our mission of sustainable cash generation and strategic land disposal.


The position will be based in the City of Mbombela.


Key Performance Areas

  • Execute land manufacturing processes for the conversion of land into valuable real estate assets, ensuring regulatory compliance, and managing the symbiotic relationship between the built and green environment to ensure sustainable urban development.

  • Manage the land transfer process to achieve strategic outcomes.

  • Engage with property brokers and clients to achieve the sales target, providing support to the development manager and managing director.

  • Project manage the company’s joint venture initiatives and manage ad hoc development projects.

  • Execute the marketing strategy for the Properties business and joint venture operations.

  • Provide support to the managing director in the execution of the business strategy.

  • Cultivate and maintain strategic relationships with key stakeholders, promoting a collaborative approach to achieving our strategic objectives.


Candidate Profile

  • Relevant tertiary education in town planning or the built environment

  • 3-5 years work experience in the built environment, with experience in town planning.

  • Strong knowledge of town planning, township servicing, and project management.

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to work collaboratively with internal and external stakeholders.

  • Confident, determined, and adaptable.

  • High standard of excellence.

  • Advanced practical knowledge of MS Office applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook) is essential.

  • Ability to:

    • Handle multiple priorities simultaneously

    • Demonstrate high levels of integrity
